Rural Trading Stores

The Growth of 20 to 107 Stores

A decision was made to franchise 20 family owned rural trading stores, by selling these stores to the managers who ran them. I assisted in the acquisition of a further 87 stores for a retail building and hardware supply Company. The acquisition and roll out were resulted in a considerable increase in revenues, and fees to the Holding company, and the employment of over 700 people. Awarded the franchise association and Industrial Development empowerment company of the year to Sean Andrews, my colleague and associate, who led and implemented the growth initiative.

“This growth initiative was unprecedented in the National economy in its time. As a group, the Company became the third biggest Hardware and Building Retail supplier in 16 months in the country, with ownership being vested at local and community level-a brilliant and practicable concept way ahead of its time”.
